Place

She is quiet, reserved.
She has hidden herself.
She opened her heart to you,
And you slammed her proposal in her face.

She immediately withdrew.

She, over the weeks,
Felt more and more worthless;

Like sand slipping through her fingers;
her fate felt like it belonged to someone else,
Someone else much
bigger.

But as she looked out to that much bigger else;
It comforted her not...

The vastness
concerned her-
All she wanted
was to find her place,

Find her little
place.

The possibility of her
landing on her feet
now appeared terribly slim,
which seemed so ironic
as she faced the vastness that seemed to offer endless opportunity.

With not a friend in sight nor an ounce of hope left (like she once did have...that once kept her dreaming)...

Crying she said,

Have
mercy
on
me,
I
have
surely
shown
you
my
love?

Is
there
not
more
to
this
story
than
the
present
hum-drum
?

SEASON'S GREETINGS!

Been so super hectic - posting here and there as I can - missing the connection that blogging brings.

Hope all had a wonderful Christmas and here's to some happy holidays and a wonderful, peaceful & joyful 2010.

Above are snippets of my Christmas Day - presents and my darling Rose (first photo via morning light in my room).

I forgot to take a photo of the Christmas lunch this year (such a shame) but I did a high tea - lots of finger sandwiches! What did you do?

"Gris Clair"

Stunning fragrance I discovered in Mecca Cosmetica this week - love, love, love this.

So lavender, so ashy, so completely unusual.
Such full, rounded notes that take me to the sea
where I find myself sitting close to a fire.

Here you can read about the man that created this little heavenly piece, Serge Lutens.
